How We Select Your Competitors

No manual research required. We identify your competitors automatically and explain why each one matters to your specific market.

Zero-Effort Setup

When we analyze your brand, we automatically generate a list of suggested competitors. You don't need to spend hours researching who to track — we do that heavy lifting for you.

Each suggestion comes with a confidence score and our reasoning. Simply review the list, accept the ones that make sense for your business, and decline the rest. You can add or remove competitors anytime — we've made it effortless.

Key Insight

Most of our users accept 3-5 competitors during setup. Your list will grow naturally as we discover new competitors in your reports.

Our Methodology

When we analyze your brand, we identify competitors through multiple signals — including category overlap, how often AI mentions you together, and target customer similarity.

This multi-signal approach helps us catch competitors you might not have considered — the adjacent category players or emerging challengers that AI is increasingly recommending to your potential customers.

Confidence Scores

Each competitor we suggest comes with a confidence score (0-100%) that shows how certain we are about the match.

  • High confidence (80%+): Strong category and ICP overlap, frequently compared by AI
  • Medium confidence (50-79%): Partial overlap, occasionally compared
  • Lower confidence (<50%): Adjacent players worth keeping an eye on
Tip

Don't ignore our lower-confidence suggestions. Sometimes the most dangerous competitors are the ones you haven't heard of yet.

Why We Explain Our Reasoning

Every competitor we suggest includes our reasoning: why we think they compete with you for the same customers. This isn't just transparency — it's intelligence you can act on.

Here's what our reasoning looks like:

  • “Targets similar mid-market B2B companies with comparable pricing”
  • “Frequently mentioned as an alternative to you in AI responses”
  • “Overlapping feature set focused on workflow automation”

Understanding why someone competes with you helps you figure out howto compete. A feature-based competitor needs a different strategy than a price-based one.

Ongoing Discovery

Our job doesn't stop after setup. As we generate new reports for you, we keep analyzing AI responses for emerging competitors.

When a new brand starts appearing frequently in buying scenarios relevant to your business, we'll flag it as a potential competitor — even if it wasn't in your original list. We help you stay ahead of market shifts.

Note

New competitor suggestions appear in your dashboard. Check them periodically so you're never caught off guard.

Make It Yours

Our suggestions are just a starting point. You know your market best. At any time, you can:

  • Accept our suggestions: Add them to your tracked competitors
  • Decline suggestions: Remove matches that aren't relevant to you
  • Add your own: Include competitors we didn't catch
  • Remove existing: Stop tracking competitors that are no longer relevant

Your competitor list shapes which buying scenarios we simulate. The more accurate your list, the more relevant your visibility data will be.
