What are the BrandViz Industry Rankings?

BrandViz Industry Rankings are an open dataset of how leading AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity) name and recommend solutions in B2B software categories. We run hundreds of buyer-style questions through each model and publish the resulting leaderboard, methodology, source questions, and citation data openly.

How are the rankings built?

BrandViz runs about 480 buyer questions across four AI assistants for each category, covering the problem-recognition, solution-research, vendor-evaluation, and competitive-intelligence stages of the buying journey. We extract every solution named, dedupe variant names, verify domains, and rank solutions by mention rate, recommendation rate, and citation rate.

Which AI models do you measure?

BrandViz measures four AI assistants in every ranking: OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude, Google's Gemini, and Perplexity. We use the latest generally available chat models from each provider with web search enabled, so the answers reflect what real buyers see when they ask these assistants today.

How often are the rankings updated?

BrandViz refreshes each industry ranking quarterly, and we add new categories weekly. AI model behaviour shifts as providers update their training and retrieval systems, so each ranking is a point-in-time snapshot. The date shown on every ranking is the moment the latest run completed.

Why isn't my brand in a ranking?

BrandViz only surfaces solutions named in at least two AI answers within a category; single-mention long-tail brands are dropped as noise. Can I get a ranking for my specific category?
